The Kinzig Valley, the Ortenau, the Black Forest & the Alsace
The state-recognized resort of Berghaupten is 170 to 438 meters above sea level at the entrance to the Kinzig Valley, in a quiet location a little off the federal road 33 running in the valley and belongs to the Ortenau district. The Ortenau is a historical landscape on the right Upper Rhine and in the foothills of the Black Forest. The steep western slopes of the Black Forest, which merge into hilly vineyards, fruit and vegetable plantations, are typical of the Ortenau. Some of these hills are also forested. From here you can get to Lake Constance or Switzerland in around two hours – neighboring Alsace can be reached by car in just over an hour. The Ortenaukreis is the largest district in Baden-Württemberg and the region impresses above all with its diversity.
Berghaupten is part of the Central Black Forest holiday region and is located in the heart of the Black Forest. The history of tourism in the region goes back to 1760 when the first stagecoach line was opened. Many Black Forest trademarks such as the famous Bollenhut have their origin here. Nestled between vines and the Black Forest, you will find the best conditions for an eventful and relaxing holiday.
