Colmar is the third largest city in Alsace after Strasbourg and Mulhouse and the capital of the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region. Colmar is located on the Alsace Wine Route and likes to call itself the capital of Alsatian wines. The city is famous for its well-preserved architectural heritage spanning six centuries and for its museums, including the Unterlinden Museum with the Isenheim Altarpiece.
